ABOUT JOSHUA GOLDSTEIN

Joshua Goldstein is a trumpet performer and educator based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As an educator, Joshua brings his passion for music to programs such as Tune Up Philly, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and Play On Philly, while also maintaining an active private teaching studio. His pedagogical approach combines scientific understanding, musical artistry, and an engaging, personable style that allows for students to learn, grow, and become resilient humans and musicians. His teaching has been shaped by extensive private study with notable trumpet educators including Ryan Darke, Robert Frear, and Frank Glasson.

He holds a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach.

​

Joshua currently performs with the Delaware County Symphony and the Lower Merion Symphony Orchestra and has previously held positions with ensembles including the Chesapeake Brass Band, where he served as Solo Cornet, and the Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra. He regularly performs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with pit orchestras, brass bands, and event ensembles.

Joshua is also the founder of the Sunshine Brass Quintet, a chamber ensemble formed with some of Southern California’s most talented young musicians.​

​

Outside of music, Joshua enjoys fostering dogs, watching San Diego Padres baseball, and competing as a top-ranked Settlers of Catan player.
